Sraman Chatterjee, born on 13th July 1990 is a freelance actor both in theatre and films, currently based in Mumbai. He has been active in the professional theatre circuit since 2009. Originally from Asansol, West Bengal, Sraman started off in small town theatre groups at the age of 10. After completing his schooling from Asansol, he moved base to Kolkata at the age of 17 and started his professional career as an apprentice in various theatre groups in Kolkata. During 2009 he was featured in a production of Tagore’s Raktakarabi (Red Oleanders) by Purba-Pashchim, as one of the lead cast. He continued playing leads in Bengali, English and Hindi plays throughout 2010-2015 along with acting in a few art house and independent film productions. In 2015, he was cast in the films Cholochitro Circus and Bibaho Diaries directed by Mainak Bhaumik, thereby starting his commercial film career. Damru, by Riya Agarwal is his first Hindi film. Sraman pursued his graduation and post graduation in Comparative Literature from Jadavpur University, Kolkata.

The nature of his work serves as a technical skill that helps him become a part in various kinds of visual storytelling. The spirit of storytelling and the privilege of adapting to the director’s landscape is his motivation as an actor. Syed Shamsul Haq's Bukjhim Ek Bhalobasha has been his first directorial work.
